Carissa Klopoushak, violin & Philip Chiu, piano

I am so proud and humbled to announce that I have released an album, SOUNDWORLDS, with my very good friend and long-time collaborative buddy Philip Chiu.

I've had the great fortune of touring Canada with Phil, beginning in 2009 for the Eckhardt-Grammatté Competition.  SOUNDWORLDS features some of our favourite works from our many tours together, including three sonatas for violin and piano by Leoš Janáček, Claude Debussy, and Healey Willan.  Written within three years of one another, each sonata offers a unique perspective on the First World War.  Completing the album are two shorter works by Claude Vivier and T. Patrick Carrabré's Chaconne, the E-Gré competition commissioned work, of which I'm honoured to have made the world premiere recording.

I'll be hosting Launch Parties in many different cities, beginning with Montreal, Toronto, and Ottawa.  Come join me for a glass of something tasty and hear some highlights of the album!
