“PLAY FOR UKRAINE” now available on demand

On Thursday, April 27th, Ottawa Chamberfest proudly teamed up with Carleton University’s Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, Ottawa Branch, to present a concert in support of the Canada-Ukraine Foundation’s Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

The Gryphon Trio joined Chamberfest Artistic Director and violinist Carissa Klopoushak, violinist Emily Kruspe, soprano Irina Medvedeva, actor Moriana Kachmarsky, Ukrainian village voice ensemble Kolizhanky, and Laurence Ewashko and his Ewashko Singers in a program celebrating Ukrainian music and culture, featuring Ukrainian chamber music, choral music, folk singing, and poetry.

The concert took place at the Carleton Dominion-Chalmers Centre in downtown Ottawa. Volunteers from the Ukrainian Canadian Congress were onsite to accept donations before and after the performance, collecting over $60,000 in audience donations for the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. The number is ever-increasing; please share this concert with your communities to see this total grow! To donate to our campaign, click here.

Donations by cheque (payable to Canada-Ukraine Foundation, memo “Chamberfest”) or online through the link above will receive a tax receipt from the Canada-Ukraine Foundation. This concert is supported by Jonathan Krehm and Canzona Chamber Players. Thank you for your generosity!

May this concert be an inspiration to you and yours, and may our collective efforts help to bring a swift end to this terrible war – with a strong and free Ukraine. Slava Ukraini!
